CTS14 - Happy Birthday

I turned the sketch on its side and used some old Stampin' Up! stamps for the flowers and stems and a Taylored Expressions sentiment. To add some dimension to the flowers, I shaded the edges of the petals with a slightly darker copic marker after I stamped them.  I cut yellow circles for the flower centres, sponging the edges with a darker shade of yellow and then mounting them slightly offset on a black circle the same size.

Now it's your turn to show us your fabulous creation based on this sketch!

  2. When I first saw the card, I could have sworn it was buttons, beads, or anything 3 dimensional. Your shading make it look like it's coming right off the card.

  3. I'm with Bobby. I thought the flowers were made from felt because your shading has them popping right off the card! This is fabulous Ardyth! And I'm sending snow your way, which will probably be more than our 4-7" cuz the system will pick up more moisture as it goes over the lake. Sorry. But it is beautiful. Though not as beautiful as your card!!! Bev

  4. Seems everyone's in agreement, Ardyth ... the shading is so superbly done, it does seem as though these are 3D elements! Stay warm in all that snow! Anita :)

  12. OK, totally LOVE how you used a marker to shade the flowers. I was thinking, two-step stamp?! Nah, it's a simple answer, which is fantastic!
